I grew up in Redmond. It has changed greatly in recent ten years. There are plenty of places to go wine tasting (Woodinville), golf, fishing, etc. is Redmond's most exclusive and expensive, but close enough Seattle, which many people go in town for the nightlife. They have great parks and recreation department and Marymoor concerts in the park during the summer.
