Where is the beer and cheaper alcohol, Seattle, WA or Vancouver, British Columbia?

A large group of my friends are flying Seattle WA, and then drive to Whistler, British Columbia for a week long ski trip. Does beer and / or alcohol cheaper side or the border another? Must be full of beer and / or alcohol before crossing the Canadian border?
