I need snowboard and gears; is it cheaper to rent from ski/board rental at the summit or at local rentalshop?

I live in Seattle, I know that there are many local ski/board rental for snowboarding at the summit. Is it better to rent from the resort/summit or should i shop around downtown area?
Does anybody know where would a cheap place to rent in Seattle area? How much are day?

renting gets you good equipment, but if your gonna keep going shop for your own
I work at a thrift shop, and after Christmas people get rid of their old stuff, call thrift shops in your area and ask about boards and other equipment, you will save big, and maybe find one for the price of a rental or two
