
When most people think of fly fishing in salt water, their minds drift to tropical climates and fish species such as tarpon and bonefish. While the northwest Pacific not hot climate and salt water sport fishing typically more than makes up for fly fishing in the circulation and spectacular scenery.
I spent some time fishing in warmer climates, but always I return to Washington State. The casting of the ITA along the beaches of Hood Canal, sea-run murderer or the fight against the waves and currents casting flies for coho salmon in the Pacific Ocean, can not get enough saltwater fly straight possibilities fishing available here.
Much my summer is spent fly fishing in the Pacific Ocean for salmon and Bottom. Bottomfishing is fish, like rockfish and lingcod. This right is fishing near cliffs and coasts bordering the coast of northern Washington. The fishing is often fast and furious. Once you find fish schools of black rock, taking one after another. They are aggressive and can even be connected by poppers occasionally. While fishing along the coast, you will see sea lions, seals, tons of birds, and perhaps a whale.
The other main objective of saltwater fly fishing in the Pacific Ocean is the coho salmon. Neah Bay is located in a perfect place to intercept millions of salmon returning to rivers in Oregon, British Columbia and Washington. The strong currents concentrate the fish that feed on bait fish and shrimp. It's incredible fly fishing saltwater fish to be 10-30 days. Most coho salmon run between 4-6 pounds, but fish reared in teens are landed every year. Modeling bait sinking lines is the primary means of catching salmon, but fishing the surface is becoming increasingly popular. Pink salmon are also available every two years, and only add to the pleasure.
The deep-sea fishing requires a solid boat and some experience, but the state of Washington also offers a large herd of fishing rights of seawater around the Seattle metropolitan area. Stretching from Bellingham to Olympia, Puget Sound is a high-level body of water protection. Which flows into Puget Sound are numerous rivers and streams. These basins annual product spawning runs of coho, pink and chum salmon that are available not only to fishing boats, but you can fish from shore. With salmon, Puget Sound and Hood Canal offer outstanding habitat for sea trout murderer. This native trout moves into the seawater for food. Casting flies along the beaches is a popular fishery for these trout.
The murderers are like ghosts who surf along beaches. Beaches like the fish are usually rocky or have large quantities of oysters. This habitat supports food, such as Sculpins, bait and shrimp fierce love to eat. The patterns of surface fishing, as is Gurglers much more popular and is a great way to find fish. The inexorable often manifest themselves in the dry boiling point and then move to a basement model bait will result in establishing a solid connection.
If you travel across the Pacific Northwest, you might want to remember that where there is salt, there is no fishing fly in salt water.
