Seattle is a wonderful place to visit for travelers, couples and families, but on a family holiday can be a little hard to know what attractions to visit. As long time resident of Seattle – and a self-confessed lover of Seattle – I compiled the 8 Things to do in Seattle on family holidays.

• Pike Place Market. Pike Place Market is one of Seattle's most popular attractions, with crowds on weekends throughout the year. That said, there is very touristy — many residents still buy their products and beef (market and the curse of the crowd a bit). Among the must see attractions in Pike Place, be sure to see pitchers Fish Pike Place Fish Market, visit the first Starbucks, and spend time walking and listening to people who sell arts and crafts.
• Ferries Seattle. Seattle is one of the few cities in America to have a viable ferry system and popular. Many residents commute five days a week in Seattle ferry. A half-day adventure is fun to take a ferry between Puget Sound for lunch, then back on a return trip in the afternoon. You get a great view of Seattle, and certainly a unique experience.
• University of Washington. Located north of the city, from the University of Washington is one of the premier colleges in the country, and is also known as one of the world's most beautiful campus. With some structures of more than 100 years, over many tree-lined paths bricks, is a curious (and photographers) delight.
• Ballard Locks. Technically known as the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, known locally as Locks Ballard shows an interesting view of shipping – and likes to please crowds of young and old. The whole weekend in one hour you can see the windows up and down several times, and often you can talk to vessel owners that their vessels to increase or decrease the gap of 20 'between Salmon Bay and Lake Union. Be sure to check the scale of the fish and keep an eye on the hungry sea lions!
• Seattle Underground. The underground tour of Seattle is a great attraction tourism education worldwide should go at least once. Taking a tour guide through the Seattle metro are often very funny, and the tour itself is very interesting.
• EMP. Whether you love or hate design, the Experience Music Project is a fascinating way to spend a couple of hours, especially if they have an exhibit that interests PEM dozens of sumptuous costumes of music past, more screens, early music, and many games to keep little worried.
• Seattle Waterfront. The Seattle Waterfront can be combined with a ferry ride or tour of Pike Place Market, but is certainly worth seeing. Overlooking the fun as the new Olympic Sculpture Park, and some shops and restaurants of old fool, the coastline is really fun.
• Downtown Seattle. Many visitors skip downtown Seattle, on the other, best-known attractions, but I say they are the center of Seattle. It is very accessible, with short blocks and large, most covered sidewalks. There are some big malls (Pacific Place and Westlake, to name two) and some historic buildings – go to Nordstrom first! Add to this-world dining class, many street artists and tons of fun watching people, and has all the makings of a fun few hours – or more!

Seattle is a great family destination. There are many great attractions for kids of all ages, great parks and restaurants and the climate is much better than people give credit a. One word of warning – once people visit Seattle residents who want to become invariable!
