How far is downtown Seattle SeaTac?

I'm looking at hotels in Seattle the following weekend and after that there seems many more available in SeaTac and a lower price. We are only staying for one night and we're going to spend all day Saturday and Sunday in or near downtown Seattle. We will probably see a few bars downtown too. We have our own car. SeaTac is too far from the road and is worth staying there to save money?

SeaTac is the airport is approximately 13 miles from Seattle. Yes, you can save money by staying at the airport, but you spend half an hour in each direction entering the city. If you stay near the airport, do not recommend driving in the city to see the attractions of the city. Stay in the city with a more expensive car because hotels charge $ 30 or more per day (night) parking. Traffic in Seattle is very crowded and parking is expensive near the main attractions. It is possible want to consider taking the tram in the city and back if you stay near the airport. You can leave your car parked in motel free LRT ride only five dollars throughout the year. I've included some links that I hope will help.
