Demo reel … Is it a necessity, then I do without him?

I did a lot of work in the indie film here in Seattle, but I'm not impressed by the quality of the work (audio, video quality, etc.), then it would be wrong not to include a demo in my presentations to staff in Los Angeles, and is a must?
