Seattle Hotel recommendation?
Go to Seattle in November and would like to stay within walking distance of major attractions including the Space Needle et al. This is an anniversary trip, so a good place on a modest budget would be better. We prefer more of a hotel instead of a huge tent. Any help is appreciated.
Wow, there are many great hotels to choose from! Congratulations on your birthday – I really hope you have a wonderful time in Seattle. Now for the recommendations … First, try the Alexis Hotel. Is 1 and Madison in downtown Seattle and within walking distance of Pike Place Market and downtown business district's main commercial. Also is nearly a ton of restaurants – from casual cafes and pubs and restaurants relaxed luxury. It will also be able to take the monorail from downtown to the Space Needle Pacific Science Center, worth a visit. Although Alexis can be a bit expensive, is a charming hotel shop and I think they have good discounts for season low. On a similar note, you can try Hotel Vintage Park in lane 5, which I think is run by the same people who run the Alexis. Another beauty of living downtown. Other ideas include Inn at the Market (itchy or pine, also the center of high places) and the Hotel Roosevelt, a true classic of Seattle. Really look at the Roosevelt.
A final Thought is the Edgewater Inn. Though far from being a Botique hotel as others have mentioned, is in downtown Seattle, near docks and shopping malls, and therefore Frank Zappa wrote a song about it (Mudshark). You should be able to find at least the first four hotels mentioned by searching online. I hope these suggestions help a bit – a nice holiday!
