What is the gear ratio of the BMX bike again?
I used to ride a bike for 15 years (1994-1997) and uses a 38T-16T pinion and 45T cassette / pedals (depending or not, I'm running). I'm putting together an old BMX bike and I see very little pedal / freewheel combinations, such as a freewheel and 10T sprocket teeth 28ish. What is the "norm" for today's standards? Is there anything special I need to know when buying a crank? I get the profile bmx cranks (http://www.danscomp.com/452553.php?cat=PARTS), and I know my body (Redline Proline XL) needs the U.S. standard support background. Any help is appreciated! Oh, and no one knows of any studies about Seattle? I want to add that I live in Seattle and is very hilly here, so I'm looking for a team a little easier, is not equivalent to a configuration of the race, 45 rpm sprocket/16T freewheel combo. It is 25 / 9 "easy" gear? Thanks for the input.
Ok ok …. Your old bike that used either a pinion gear 45t or 38t freewheel with a 16-ton piece of … Ratio Gear Ratio 45/16 = 38/16 = 2.8125:1 2.375:1 speed …. obviously I felt a difference was more difficult to start pedaling in a position even with the 38/16 45/16 which was prepared with the team, but you have had a higher gear with 45/16, then did the 38/16 gearing. The popular now some day is about 25 / 9 ready 25 / 9 = 2.77:1 gear ratio is similar to the 45/16 I have a 28T pinion 14T cog freecoaster 28/14 with gear ratio = 2:1, which means no more high-speed all and came faster than the speed, but it is easier to drive / pedal things from a stop. I think I have a 22t or 25t pinion to pass my debt ratio is 25/14 = speed 1.78:1 (very low speed, wat I can do now, but even easier to get peadal things or pedal a detainee. 22/14 gear ratio = 1.57:1 ….. even easier than the gear ratio from above, but much less equipment. To find more speed comes easily to the calculation using different sized gears and teeth. Here is a list of popular combos speed … Http://www.danscomp.com/serve.php?serve=faq&html=chainwheel_faqs.htm Just take the number of teeth on the pinion and divide by the number of teeth the pinion of the lower … The easiest answer to start pedaling, but less top speed is high, the answer the more difficult to pedal start, but the speed above.
