What is living in Seattle?
I wonder how living in Seattle. I currently live in the Bay Area of San Francisco and I think moving to Seattle. I went to the city and I like, but do not know what is living there. Some things I have questions about: 1) a housing or expensive rent in Seattle? 2) Are there many jobs working in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry in the Seattle area? 3) How is the quality of life in Seattle, compared to San Francisco or Los Angeles (crime, schools, weather, etc)? 4) What is the dating scene like in Seattle? All comments from people who live or have lived in Seattle, would be great!
Hey There striking similarities between San Francisco and Seattle, in terms of natural environment, socio-political climate and sound economically. In Seattle, in some circles is known as San Francisco or San Francisco Northern Lite. Here are my answers to your questions: 1.) Housing is more cheaper than in Seattle is San Francisco by a long shot. But equal to or near the levels of LA. Anywhere in the Seattle area is more livable living simply avoid outside or near the main avenues or Hwys Rainer Ave South Seattle, 99/Aurora Highway Ave / Pacific Highway north and south, Delridge Way, West Of Seattle and Martin Luther King march in south Seattle. Average price of a typical home "in the Seattle area is 400K. 2.) The Pharmaceutical / Biotech develops in Seattle, led by the efforts of people like Paul Allen, and also at the University of Washington. Not even close to the local levels, such as Boston or San Diego, but will come if space can avoid being acquired by state-owned enterprises lol check the Seattle Times and Seattle PI both have the latest information on biotechnology in the region. 3.) As I said the quality of life in Seattle is very similar in San Francisco. LA On the other side is night and day different from Seattle, but have been in Los Angeles and the area of Bay of those areas are also different day and overnight. Seattle has a very low violent crime compared to other major cities as a matter of fact, the killings were the lowest in over a decade. However, Seattle has the highest theft, property crimes and vehicle theft, but generally a city quite safe. Seattle Public Schools are struggling to keep children enrolled. Like the major yards in the country of this people's income to upper middle class to send their children to private schools or live in the suburbs of quality schools. The school situation is not different from San Francisco. The time believe it or not, the weather in San Francisco is very similar to Seattle. Both receive enough rainfall in the month of November, December and January with the average rainfall in Seattle is slightly higher during these months. Seattle has covered San Francisco fog of the best parts of the year and Seattle is a little cooler than San Francisco. During his 48 in Seattle, 55 in San Francisco. So not much difference. The climate of major difference is that the sages of Seattle receives more rain, cloudy during the early spring months March and April to say that San Francisco. Seattle is usually dry from May to mid October. This year was no exception due to El Nino / global warming. LA the weather was depending on where you live is an arid / year and year-round Mediterranean climate. Seattle and San Francisco have more in common in Los Angeles and Seattle or Los Angeles and San Francisco. Place of dating 4.) In Seattle is what you do. Again, like San Francisco, Seattle is very educated, liberal, progressive, anti-culture. So if you were able to adapt to San Francisco, you'll have no problem with installation in Seattle, in all aspects of life. If the outdoors or desire to go to happy hour you should have no problem. Remember, the focus of all social activity, ie, nightlife and more. The City is not an area like Los Angeles. In short, if you decide to move the transition should not be so hard over the bay from Seattle. Just keep an open mind about things and you'll do. The not normally these types of Seattle rightous same right wing whose life revolves around life in the suburbs and SUVs, and take refuge in communities cutter cookies. Seattle is a city inviting people to explore and discover. So many great neighborhoods unique and interesting
