Acting Tips:) Please help me?

Ok, so I have 13 years, and really really wants to be an actress. Many celebrities are in my area (around Seattle, Portland, Canada-ISH) and I would start working. I'm doing ballet, and I will point next year, and I can sing very well, but I would like some advice. One of my professors told me to just read a character in the books of the lines, and act as if I were her as the book progressed, but along to join a theater (joined this year) and reading aloud, what else can I do that I heard in parts of ACE that is approaching?
