seattle ballet class
Where can I find a good dance class (or three) in (Western) Washington State?

I’m a guy. I want to join a (few) dance class(es). I want to do hip hop, tap, ballroom and maybe another kind, like ballet, because I’ve heard that it is really important. Belly dancing looks like it would be fun, too. I live in Western Washington, sort of in the Seattle area but not really. I do not want to put my actual city in here due to internet safety concerns, but I would like to find a good class, or a good teacher. I don’t want to join a group that’s just recreational–I actually want to learn to dance, because if I like it, I might try to make it a career later in life. How do I find a good dance instructor in my area?

Another question I have is–how many classes would you suggest taking, since there are five different kinds that I am interested in? I want to learn them all. Ballet seems like the one I will like the least, but if it’s important then I want to take it.

You better save up your money cause it ain’t cheap, but it’s worth it. I take Ballroom dance lesson privately. Only buy 10 lesson at a time. I have bought 30 cause I got a really good discount. But I only paid month to month. Don’t buy some 2 year contract for $5000. You are talking about 150 to 200 hours of lessons. Finding a good dance instructor is like finding a good lawyer. Use a private studio that has independent instructors. Watch the instructor dance. If you don’t like they’re style of dancing, don’t employ them. Attend some studio parties and watch the students dance. See if they are any good. Watch the instructors dance with the students. Don’t sign any long term contracts!!!
Have fun!!!
